Otsuka Sogo Law Offices were founded in 2011 to offer Japanese and foreign law advice on the legal structuring and business planning to Japanese and international clients. Our firm is a full- service law office with in-depth capabilities in extensive and constructive advice on business ventures including joint ventures, distributorship, agency and franchises, international trade, antitrust and unfair competitive practice, intellectual property and licensing, and international dispute resolution, as well as all types of litigation. Akio Otsuka, partner, with LL.M. and MBA from U.S. Law School and Business School, is able to deal with such needs promptly and efficiently.

THE PRACTICE AREAS:
In Japan, in order to activate corporate activities and enhance international competitiveness, various laws including Corporate Act, Securities Act and Antitrust Law have been refurbished at high speed. Our long-term experience helps us provide clients with effective and constructive advice on selection of the most appropriate type of business organizations, as well as change thereof, M&A, and reorganization.
In addition, we have special capabilities and specialization in multinational regulatory issues and intellectual property issues, for instance, involving disputes on antitrust, labor discrimination and copyright infringement between U.S.A. and Japan. Akio Otsuka, Esq. with experience in multi-jurisdictional issues is engaged in in-depth study in applicability of civil remedy provisions included in foreign regulatory laws in domestic jurisdictions.
